"Paravent 3000" in the courtyard of the new Bundestag office complex on Unter den Linden in Berlin is a modern addition to the city's public art scene. This project offers a powerful blend of visual beauty, interactive experience, and narrative depth. Designed for a semi-public space within a parliamentary complex, the Paravent serves not only as an aesthetic highlight but also as a social hub, inviting Bundestag employees and their guests to engage with its form, material, and inherent stories.The Paravent is intentionally designed to support the courtyard's function as a circulation and access area while also providing retreat spaces under the canopy of a grove of trees.
With its strategic positioning and inviting design, the Paravent becomes a central feature of the courtyard that is both visually appealing and functional, promoting interaction and well-being for the building's users. The design is based on pre-existing dimensions, so no additional approval will be needed.
This artwork, through its innovative design and interactive character, contributes to establishing the new Bundestag office complex not just as a workplace but also as a place of inspiration and cultural exchange.
